Merry Christmas!

Ok, so it's been a while since my last post, and I promise to do better. What better time to jump back into blogging than the holidays?! Decorations, yummy food and great music make this time of year one of my favorites. Oh, and let's not forget celebrating our Savior's birth. Throughout the month, I'll be sharing with you all some of the things that I'm making for the holidays. From magnets to ornaments, there's something for everyone to craft. In the meantime, here are some pictures of my Christmas tree that I finished last night. Enjoy!

Cold Office+Bored Friends=Cuddlees!

Yep, that's Paige and I rocking our new Cuddlees, the poor man's version of the Snuggie. I highly recommend getting one. $8 at Dollar General.

Girls can love football too!

I love college football season! The start of cooler weather, mixed in with the sounds of the school band and cheering on your favorite team is a time that's hard to top. A fun way to know who's playing who and when is by printing out "The Helmet Schedule." I have mine taped on the wall right next to my desk. Apparently the same guy puts it together every year. You can download it here.

In Full Bloom

I wish I had taken a picture of what my Lantana looked liked when I first planted it so you could see the before and after, because it's out of control now. I snapped some pics at lunch today and thought I'd share. Happy Friday!

Great Summer Music

Want some fun, chill music for the summer? A good friend of mine introduced me to James Morrison, a British singer-songwriter with a soulful voice and great lyrics. His debut album, "Undiscovered", is great, but I've fallen in love with his new cd, "Songs For Your, Truths For Me". Fav tracks: #5, #7, #9

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it....

More like, I'm so hilarious-looking in this get-up that I laughed at myself every time I looked in the mirror. I thought you all could use a good laugh today, so I thought I'd share....

Yep, that's me, taking it back to the 80s to raise money for Young Life. That lovely teal ensemble was an actual bridesmaid's dress, complete with matching shoes. I found it at a garage sale. There is a name written inside the velcro belt, so "Shana," if you want your dress back, I'll give you a good deal.

What to plant?

One of my favorite flowers to plant is Lantana! It just makes me happy and is usually hard to kill, which is good for me. It comes in a variety of colors too!

Tis the season...

Tis the season to start planting! I love to work outside and am not afraid to get down and dirty. ;-) A quick tip when planting flowers is to make sure you break up the roots after you take the flower out of the plastic container, before putting it in the ground.

Also, before sticking your flower in the ground, a great product to sprinkle in the hole is Osmocote® Outdoor & Indoor Smart-Release® Plant Food. My mom's always used it, and I used it last year in my flower beds and it worked like a charm.
